Following the earlier announcements of Laura Knight, Claire Archibald, Daniel Emmerson and Alex More, we are proud to introduce the fifth and final member of the Teachmate Advisory Group (TAG): Christian Turton.
The Teachmate Advisory Group was created to provide Teachmate with a sounding board of highly regarded external expertise. By bringing together leaders from across a wide range of educational and AI specialisms, the group offers constructive challenge and strategic insight at every stage of our development. Meeting three times a year, its role is to help us balance innovation with responsibility, ensuring every solution we create remains practical for classrooms and trusted by teachers.

About Christian Turton

As the EdTech Lead at Chiltern Learning Trust, Christian Turton is an experienced educational leader with a deep understanding of how technology can drive meaningful learning outcomes. For five years, his classes consistently achieved some of the best progress scores in the country, which is a testament to his expertise in combining great teaching with purposeful innovation.
Christian’s impact extends far beyond the classroom. He has advised hundreds of schools and trusts on their digital strategies, developing and implementing over 100 successful one-to-one learning programmes.
His influence at a national level includes co-leading a major initiative with the Chartered College of Teaching and the Department for Education, resulting in the official guidance on the safe and effective use of AI in education.
A recognised authority in professional learning, Christian is both a Google Certified Trainer and an Apple Professional Learning Specialist. His thought leadership has been published in leading education journals including the Chartered College of Teaching’s Impact and the Independent Schools Council’s Digital Strategy Magazine.
Christian’s Contribution to the Group
Christian brings a unique blend of practical classroom experience, strategic EdTech expertise and national policy influence. His insight into digital transformation, teacher training and responsible AI adoption will play a key role in shaping Teachmate’s continued development as a trusted, human-centred AI platform for education.
With Christian’s appointment, the Teachmate Advisory Group is now complete – uniting five respected voices from across the education landscape: Laura Knight, Claire Archibald, Daniel Emmerson, Alex More and Christian Turton. Together, they will help ensure Teachmate remains at the forefront of responsible innovation, putting teachers and students at the heart of everything we do.
