We had an absolutely amazing time at the 2025 Bett Show with the entire Teachmate team yesterday! πŸ™Œ

We all headed down to London from across England and Wales to experience Bett – for some of us, it was our first time attending.

We met many Teachmate members and some were even kind enough to record a little sound bite for us. We’ll be sharing those across our social media channels very soon! If you’re at Bett on Friday, keep your eyes peeled for Mr P as he’ll be at Bett with his microphone looking for more teachers to interview πŸ‘€

We were also finalists for three Bett awards – the Company of the Year (under Β£3 mil), the BETT Innovation Award and the AI in Education – Workload Reduction Award.

But which award did we take home? We’ll share that juicy bit of information further down the blog, but for now, here are our team’s reflections on their time at Bett:

Karen – Teachmate Community Engagement Manager for Primary

‘This was the first time I’ve been to BETT and it was quite an experience to see a show on this scale! It was great to see such a range of exhibitors, both as a teacher and from my role within the Teachmate team. It was interesting to see so many talks about AI in Education from such a range of people.
Knowing that we are reducing teacher workload makes my job so rewarding and to have this recognised by winning a BETT award was just fantastic. It was was very special for our whole team to be together to celebrate receiving this award.”

Lindsay – Teachmate Community Engagement Manager for Secondary

“I used the opportunity to go to some really interesting panel discussions at BETT, and it was great to hear recognition of the role of AI in meeting the needs of learners and reducing teacher workload- both of these being key aims that we have at Teachmate. An interesting discussion was on what the classroom should look like in 2040, with empahsis placed in AI literacy for all, but an important point was also made on how we ensure that learning remains challenging and with desirable difficulties when AI evolves to make all our lives easier and easier. The day was obviously topped off with an award for Teachmate, but the next highlight for me was bumping into a student I taught over 10 years ago who also now works in EdTech!”

Faye – Teachmate Welsh Community Advocate

“Diwrnod ffab (a hwyliog iawn!) yn Sioe BETT Edtech yn Llundain gyda Teachmate. A fab (and super fun!) day at the BETT Edtech show in London with Teachmate. It was great to meet people from all over the UK and Europe. Being a part of a team nominated for three BETT awards was a proud moment in itself, so winning β€˜AI in Education – Workload Reduction’ was incredible!”

Hannah – Teachmate Marketing and Community Manager

“I was amazed at the sheer size of Bett! It was so rewarding to meet some of our members in ‘real life’ and chat to them about the real-world impact that Teachmate is having on teachers. I’m also hugely proud of the team for our three award nominations and our award win! I feel grateful to work with such a wonderful group of people and it’s fantastic to see our hard work recognisedΒ in this way.”

Mel – Teachmate Operations Manager

“Visiting BETT was a real eye-opener – the sheer number of stands and great to get to see some of the faces behind the names. Winning the BETT AI in Education [workload reduction] award was the icing on the cake – team work makes for dream work!”

Dr Chip – Teachmate Co-founder and CEO

“There’s nothing I can say about Bett that one of the team hasn’t already said above! It was an incredible few days, and I’m so proud of the recognition Teachmate has received. It was wonderful to catch up with friends, and hear a wide range of insightful and engaging talks!”

Ian – Teachmate CTO and Co-founder

β€œBETT 2025 has been an incredible experience, which kicked off with wonderful news from TeacherTapp that Teachmate has β€˜some of the highest awareness, usage and recommendation scores’ of any of the brands the Teacher Tapp team looked at’. We’ve grown the Teachmate team a lot this year, which made the trip doubly fun. Winning the best AI workload reduction award was the icing on the cake. Can’t wait for BETT 2026.”

… but which award did we win?!

We’re delighted to say that we won the 2025 Bett AI in Education – Workload Reduction Award! πŸ™ŒπŸ₯‚

This award is a testament to the hard work of our team, which has grown exponentially over the past year. This time last year, it was just our three Co-founders Dr Chips, Mr P and Ian attending Bett!

We’re also hugely grateful to our ever-growing members (260,000 and counting!) and their ongoing support and use of Teachmate.

We’d like to say thank you to the Bett judges for recognising our hard work and send our congrats to all nominees and winners of the awards πŸ†

We’re committed to continuing to provide the gold standard for education AI in the UK and worldwide and we’re excited for what the future holds!
