Lindsay has recently joined us as our new Community Engagement Manager specialising in secondary. Find out why she joined us and which AI tools are her all-time favourites in our latest spotlight. Let’s go!
Tell me a little about your career history and what you were doing before TeachMateAI…
I’m a psychology teacher and I have recently moved back to the UK after spending ten years working in Malaysia, most recently as a Deputy Head. I’m now based in Yorkshire, enjoying the cooler weather alongside my husband and two Malaysian cats.
Tell me about your role at TeachMateAI?
My role is Community Engagement Manager, working specifically on secondary. I’ll be working with the ambassador team, assisting with our webinars and focusing on developing new tools to help secondary school teachers.
What’s your favourite thing about working at TeachMateAI?
The team has been really welcoming so far and I am lucky to work with a really great bunch of people. What attracted me to the role at TeachMate was the company’s mission to empower teachers through responsible AI. It’s all about respecting the professional expertise of our teachers, whilst helping them with time-saving tools to enhance learning.
Which is your favourite tool/tools?
I really like the way that a lot of our tools work together. You can go from Medium Term Planner to Lesson Planner and then through to Slideshow Generator or Assessments. The fact that these tools coordinate with the exam board specifications is also an amazing addition.
If technology had no limits and you could design any AI tool, what would it be?
Anything that really adds to student personalisation. For example, if we could input what we know about individual students and build something to help them succeed on a highly personal level, including SEND information, their strengths and interests and learning objectives to help students reach their potential- that would be great.
What are your favourite things to do when you’re not at work?
All kinds of things. I love reading, I love travelling – especially when I was based in Southeast Asia. My top three places to visit were Indonesia, Japan and Australia. I also enjoy running (badly)… I enjoy it more after it’s done!
